education and experience
When I figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up (ha-ha), I received my Associates degree in Human Services from CNM, a certificate in Health and Wellness, and another in General Studies in 2017. Then I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2019 and my Master’s in Social Work in 2021. Having been at A New Awakening Rio Rancho before assisting with front desk and Admin duties from 7/2015-6/2019, I now get to do things on the other side of the table (so to speak) from 8/2020-the current.
I have worked in the Rio Rancho Public Schools at a local middle school where I worked with youth on IEPs, I assisted with BIPs and FBAs. I facilitated group sessions as well as individual sessions. I have also worked with St. Felix Pantry in Rio Rancho for about 3 years. I assisted with numerous areas to include helping those considered to be low income get funding to help with bills, food, or other referral sources. My title was Administrative Assistant, but I did a little of everything.

why i am a counselor
Having come from a broken home and not having the best childhood, I have learned and grown. Now would love to give back to the community to help those that are going through the same. My focus was to work with children and youth, but I am now available to anyone who is willing to do the work in their lives to live a better life and grow through their traumas and/or difficulties.
My goal is to live the best life I can and to make a difference in all the lives that I can. I would love to become trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and to gain all the training I can in Trauma and working with those that have experienced trauma. I will continue to gather any training in any area I can.
