I enjoy writing when I am inspired. I enjoy writing short fictional stories. I still go back and edit my old work in hopes that someday I will publish some of them.

education and experience
Prior to my education, I worked in sales and retail. I became a jewelry consultant and eventually became a diamond certified employee at a company called Gordon’s Jewelers. I graduated in May 2017 with my Bachelor of Arts as a psychology major. I decided to continue my education to become a mental health counselor and officially graduated in April 2021 with a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University.
I was lucky that the owner of A New Awakening Rio Rancho, Erick, gave my a shot at as an intern back in July 2020. It was here that I sat with counselors and my supervisor, Bob, to learn what it takes to work with clients and discover myself as a counseling professional.
why i am a counselor
The short answer is that I like working with people. Mental health has always been so important to me, and there just aren’t enough of us to go around for the amount of individuals who truly need these services. With my compassion and empathy, it just seemed right as my duty to the community.
My goals are to continue with my education throughout my career. I want to continue to grow as a professional counselor working with any potential populations. I also want to receive more training in working with trauma and clients struggling with PTSD. Crisis intervention is also an interest, as it is important to be mentally prepared to handle these situations in the mental health profession.
