Peter Minge, Clinical Mental Health Counselor – Intern

EDUCATION: 

2017 – Current: New Mexico Highlands University, Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Anticipated Graduation in Dec. 2019.

2013 – 2017: University of New Mexico, Bachelors of Arts in Psychology.

 

EXPERIENCE:

From 2011 to 2013 I was a volunteer, and later an administrator, at Agora Crisis Center in Albuquerque New Mexico. During this time I provided counseling and crisis services through the Agora hotline and as an administrator I oversaw services rendered. I have been an intern at A New Awakening Rio Rancho since the start of 2019, where I have worked to develop my therapeutic skills. I am excited to be graduating this fall, after which I will be working at A New Awakening as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

WHY I AM A COUNSELOR:

I became a counselor to help create positive change in peoples lives and within my community.

 

GOALS:

My goal is to obtain my independent licensure and to create positive change in the world.

INTERESTS:

My areas of interests include addiction, research, and mindfulness techniques.

HOBBIES:

For fun I enjoy camping, hiking, and traveling. I also enjoy cooking and learning new recipes.
