I am currently trained in utilizing trauma focused and evidence based treatment modalities, such as CBT, EMDR, Sand Tray Therapy, Play Therapy and Theraplay just to name a few. I began my life as a therapist as soon as I was able to talk. I spent my life and late nights on the phone helping my friends and family work through their problems. My passion for helping those in need grew stronger as I grew older and I became the President of Key Club in high school and that’s where my community outreach begun and has never stopped. My dreams and passions came most alive and full force in 2009 when I graduated with my Masters Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Clinical therapy. Quickly after graduating I began working the same year at San Juan County Detention Center for Correctional Health Management in Farmington, NM where I was born and raised. I worked there as an Inmate Mental Health Professional doing: Mental health evaluations Acted as client advocate in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. Referred clients for additional psychological treatment as necessary. Monitored clients’ use and effectiveness of medications prescribed by facility psychiatrist. Performed therapy with emphasis on prevention. Worked with individuals to promote optimum mental health. Helped clients deal with addictions, substance abuse, family, parenting, marital problems, suicide, stress management, problems with self-esteem, and issues associated with legal status and mental and emotional health.
Proceeding working there, I worked at Childhaven also in Farmington, NM. During my employment there I held the following positions:

While working in these positions I performed the following responsibilities: Mental Health Assessments Comprehensive Assessments, Outpatient therapy and support services to children, youth and their families with severe emotional disturbances whom were experiencing or were at risk of one or more of the following: physical, mental or behavioral health problems; runaway or homeless youth; substance abuse; physical abuse, sexual abuse, trauma and neglect.
My goal is to help as many people as I can live their “Best Life”. I am not a stranger to life’s pain, hardships and circumstances and that why I am passionate about what I do.
I find that working with people in need is stimulating and rewarding, reflecting the many opportunities to make a difference in the lives of children, adults, elderly and families. Yes, it is a challenging career, but I am caring and passionate about this field and of others. In working with people in need, I feel as though I have the skills and ability to help them develop their skills, increase in confidence and live there best lives. I have lots of patients and I am very enthusiastic, I take responsibility seriously and have a sense of fun. I make the most of my skills and give those in need my best. I am often respected for my contribution and responsibility. Many people can see the passion and heart that I have. I hope that you can to.
